Stonehall Flats

 Renovation of small flat to include airtightness, ventilation system and insulation with community gardens and orchard. We insulated under the floor and added an airtightness layer- very important as we live by the sea and it’s windy. We added insulation in the space above the ceiling, internally insulated the front wall and externally insulated the back wall. Triple glazed windows keep us snug while the veranda on the south side hosts the diy solar shading of an old sail. The gas boiler was acceptable when we did the renovation 15 years ago. The next step is to do away with it and move to electric heating and a heat pump.
